• Eligibility & Originality: Submitted abstracts must not have been published in any peer-reviewed journals, online publications, or presented at previous international congresses. Abstracts are acceptable if the original work is properly referenced; presentations at national meetings or by non-specialist collaborators may be considered at the Scientific Committee’s discretion.
• All abstracts must be submitted via the NSC Update 2026 abstract portal by 30 June 2026.
• Upon submission, an automated acknowledgement email will be sent to the author’s registered email address. If no acknowledgement is received within 24 hours, please contact nsc.update@nhghealth.com.sg
• Authors may revise and resubmit abstracts via the official portal until the 30 June 2026 deadline. No revisions will be accepted via email or other formats, and the latest submission received before the deadline will be considered the final version for review.
Formatting Requirements
Language: Abstracts and presentations must be written in UK English.
Font Type and Size: Times New Roman, size 12, with full justification.
Title: Must not exceed 25 words. Be concise, descriptive, and directly reflective of the abstract’s core content. Write the entire title and author’s name in UPPERCASE letters. List the author’s name separately from their affiliated institutions, including the city and country, each on its own line. Only the presenting author’s name should be underlined. Exclude any academic degrees, professional titles, and full mailing addresses.
Abbreviations: Use commonly accepted abbreviations where possible. Introduce any uncommon or specialised abbreviations by spelling out the full term first, followed by the abbreviation in brackets. Represent numbers using digits, except when they appear at the start of a sentence. Avoid commercial trade names, brand names, or promotional language (consistent with "Prohibited Content" below).
Length Limit: The abstract body text is limited to 300 (Free Paper) or 350 words (Research Study) (excludes title, author names, institutional affiliations, and keywords).
Structure: The abstract body must include the following bolded subheadings (each on a new line, followed by a colon and space; text begins immediately after):
Background: (Context, clinical relevance, or unmet need addressed by the work)
Objective: (Research question, hypothesis, or primary purpose of the study/case report)
Methods: (Study design, patient population, materials, procedures, or analytical approaches used)
Results: (Key quantifiable findings with relevant data/units; international metric system preferred)
Conclusions: (Interpretation of results, clinical implications, or future research directions)
Prohibited Content: Do not include tables, graphs, images, or references in the abstract. The title, body, and presentation must be strictly unbiased and must NOT feature:
Submissions violating this rule will be withdrawn without prior notice.
Commercial product/device/company names, brand names, or trade names (use generic names only for drugs, devices, or products).
Promotional messages, corporate logos, or materials sponsored by commercial entities.
Keywords: Provide exactly two (2) keywords that align closely with the abstract’s core theme (e.g., “melasma,” “laser therapy,” “biostimulator,” “scar management”). Keywords should match the conference’s Abstract Topics (see below) to facilitate accurate categorisation and review.
Author & Affiliation Details
Authors: List full first names and surnames for all authors. Do not include academic degrees, professional titles, or honorifics (e.g., "Dr.," "Prof.," "MD").
