SESSION 8 - Beyond the Surface: Local Real-World Insights into IL-31 as the New Standard for AD & PN
IL-31 is a key driver of itch in atopic dermatitis (AD) and prurigo nodularis (PN), with nemolizumab shifting treatment focus towards pruritus control. This session presents real-world experience from the National Skin Centre, Singapore, examining treatment outcomes, dosing considerations, and patterns of itch and lesion improvement in AD and PN.
A particular focus will be placed on cutaneous adverse events, including emerging associations with facial involvement, erythema-predominant disease, and greater disease extent. Proposed mechanisms, including IL-31 blockade-related Th2 cytokine rebalancing, will be discussed alongside findings from recent Japanese real-world studies.
The talk aims to provide practical guidance on patient selection, expectation-setting, and adverse event recognition to support the integration of nemolizumab into routine dermatology practice.
